January: The beginning

 Hello everyone! 

    My name is Keaton Thorum and this is my study abroad blog! As a part of gaining honors credits for my time in Montevideo, Uruguay, I will be updating this blog frequently about my adventures here! The first photo, as seen above, is my first day of classes at my university in Montevideo, known as Universidad ORT in Montevideo, or ORT for short. This is a private university in Uruguay that is known for its business school and school of humanities, as such, I took classes pertaining to the Spanish language and learning about Latin American culture. 

During my first few weeks of orientation of the program I met a lot of amazing people within the USAC Study Abroad program, here is a photo we took together on the first week! Overall, my first month of studying abroad has been mostly just becoming acclimated with my new surroundings and home environment here in Latin America. I am excited to see what study aboard has in store for me!
